Which phones does Reverse Song work on?
Android phones running Android 8.0 or newer. It needs a working microphone to record; without one you can still import audio files and play them reversed.
Why does the reversed line sound like nonsense?
Because speech isn't symmetric in time. Words start sharply and fade, so backwards they swell in and stop abruptly, and consonants turn into strange new sounds. Copy the sounds you hear rather than trying to find words. Our guide on how to sing a song backwards shows a method that works.
How is my score worked out?
Your attempt is reversed back to forwards and compared with the original: 60% for melody and 40% for timing. Melody ignores which octave you sing in. The score doesn't judge words or voice quality. See how scoring works for the details.
Why did I get a low score when it sounded right?
The most common reasons are rushing (timing), jumping to a different note than the original (melody), background noise, and lines that are too long to remember. Try 0.75× or 0.5× playback, record in a quiet room, and start with a shorter line. If no voice is heard at all, the app asks you to try again instead of scoring.
How long can a recording be?
Up to 15 seconds. Recording stops by itself at the limit. Short lines of four to eight seconds are the easiest to sing backwards.
How does the daily challenge work?
Everyone gets the same song line on the same day. It is picked from the date and changes at local midnight. Sing it on consecutive days to keep your streak going.
Where are my recordings stored?
Inside the app on your phone. They are never uploaded, and they are not included in cloud backups. Uninstalling the app deletes them. They leave your phone only when you share or save a file yourself.
How do I share a video?
From a result or a clip in your library, tap Share. Choose video (vertical, with an animated waveform and your score) or audio only, then send it from the share sheet or save it to your phone.
What does Premium include?
No ads, no "made with Reverse Song" tag on your videos, and every voice effect including Slow-mo and Robot. Every challenge, song and the daily challenge are free without Premium.
How do subscriptions and cancellation work?
Premium is a monthly or yearly subscription through Google Play; new customers can start the yearly plan with a free trial. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancel any time in the Google Play Store under Payments & subscriptions, and Premium stays active until the end of the period you paid for. The full terms are on our Terms of Service page.
I bought Premium but I still see ads. What do I do?
Open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchase. Make sure you are signed in to Google Play with the same account you bought it with. If it still doesn't work, email us.
How do I turn off usage and crash reports?
Open Settings in the app and turn off "Share usage and crash reports". This stops usage statistics and crash reports from being sent. Ad preferences, where they apply in your region, are in the same screen.
How do I delete my data?
Delete clips from your library, or uninstall the app to remove everything stored on your phone. Our Delete your data page covers the rest.
How do I contact support?
Email support@apperssystems.com. If something isn't working, include your phone model, Android version, and what happened. That turns a guess into a fix.
